I didn’t set out to become a financial adviser. I set out to become a barrister or a solicitor.

After studying English literature at Lancaster University, I watched a barrister represent my mother through a difficult divorce. The way he used language, building a clear, persuasive argument from complex facts, was a revelation. I went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in law at the College of Law in Birmingham, fascinated by how the right words, in the right order, could genuinely change someone’s life.

I’m a Chartered Financial Planner and have spent 20 years in financial services, building expertise across mortgage processing, paraplanning, and wealth management. In 2022, I joined Cullen Wealth, which then became part of Mattioli Woods in 2025. It already feels like the place where everything I’ve learned finally adds up.

My background means I’m just as comfortable discussing the technical mechanics of pension planning or Inheritance Tax as I am simply listening to what someone actually needs. Understanding someone’s story is how you build the right plan.

My aim is always to be part of a client’s financial life for the long term, someone they trust enough to call when something changes, and who they know will follow through. Whether it’s estate planning, Inheritance Tax planning, pension strategy, or simply making sense of a complicated situation, I bring the same thing every time: preparation, attention, and plain language.

Outside of work, life is wonderfully busy. I live on a smallholding of nearly 40 acres with my family, where I’ve learned to drive a tractor, make hay, and organise Land Rover off-road rallies in our fields. I’m part of a book club, play the violin and piano, and try (with limited success) to grow butternut squash. I’d never have predicted any of it. Much like the best financial plans, life tends to take you somewhere better than you’d originally mapped out.
