Joanna joined the Investment team at Mattioli Woods in November 2025. She has been in the industry for twenty-five years, with senior roles at wealth and asset management firms including St James’s Place, Aberdeen, RBS Asset Management (Coutts clients) and M&G. She has significant experience running multi-asset portfolios, overseeing manager research and selecting alternative and private market strategies.
Prior to joining Mattioli Woods, she worked as Director of Alternatives and Private Markets at St James’s Place where she was a member of the investment function’s senior management team. She had responsibility for c£17 billion invested in alternatives and private markets and sat on the SJP Investment Committee, overseeing c£180 billion invested across the fund range. During her time at Aberdeen, RBS and M&G she had senior portfolio manager and oversight roles for multi-asset and alternative strategies, for both wealth and institutional clients.
Joanna has held various senior roles on diversity initiatives in the industry. She currently sits on the Board of literary charity English PEN.
Originally from Edinburgh, she now lives in London with her husband and children. She loves languages, literature and music and is currently learning the cello.
