I came to understand the relationship between effort and reward at a young age. Throughout my school years, I worked every weekend, consistently, because if I wanted something, I needed to earn it. This is the same commitment I’ve brought to my development as a financial adviser.

I came to understand the relationship between effort and reward at a young age. Throughout my school years, I worked every weekend, consistently, because if I wanted something, I needed to earn it. This is the same commitment I’ve brought to my development as a financial adviser.
I joined Mattioli Woods through its Financial Adviser Academy, through which I’ve built genuine technical expertise – keeping abreast of legislative changes and ongoing regulatory developments so that, when I meet with a client, I’m thoroughly prepared. I’ve always had a strong affinity for numbers, which proves particularly valuable in areas that many people find complex: pension contributions, annual allowances, tapering and carry-forward. I can also explain them clearly so that clients understand exactly where they stand.
That technical foundation, however, is ultimately in service of something more human. My aim is to give clients the confidence to enjoy their financial position rather than simply worry about it. A great many of the people I work with are in considerably stronger circumstances than they appreciate. I regularly meet individuals who, often through long-standing habits of caution, are living more restrictively than they need to. Walking them through detailed cash-flow modelling – demonstrating that their finances will remain robust in ten, fifteen or twenty years’ time – and witnessing the reassurance that brings, is the part of this work I find most meaningful. My role is to help my clients understand their position clearly, so they can live life with confidence rather than anxiety.
Underpinning all of this is relationship. I am genuinely a people person; I find it natural to engage with a wide range of individuals, and I believe that quality matters far more than it might initially appear. It creates the ease in early meetings that allows clients to speak openly and share things they might otherwise keep to themselves. Sound advice depends on that foundation of trust.
What can you expect from working with me? In short, the experience of working with someone who is firmly on your side – approachable and plain-speaking, yet well-informed and thorough. Not an adviser who talks at you, but one who engages with you, explains things in terms that make sense, and builds a lasting professional relationship over time. If that is the kind of adviser you have been looking for, I would be very glad to hear from you.
