    Chartered Wealth Planner

    “Stewarding wealth across many generations”

My introduction to money came early. As a toddler in South Africa, my mum would hand me her wallet on long car journeys to keep me occupied and I’d sit in my car seat counting her notes and adding up the change. It sounds like a small thing, but it set something in motion. Growing up, we didn’t have a lot, but my parents were deliberate about teaching us its value. They placed a strong emphasis on education and investing in yourself, as they called it, and this is something that has stayed with me throughout my life.

After moving to the UK with my family and essentially starting over, the question of “how do you build security from scratch”, is what drew me into financial planning. I’d been studying computer science, specialising in artificial intelligence, but I realised the work I actually wanted to do was about people, not screens.

I work with clients ranging from grandparents who love spoiling their grandchildren, to family businesses turning over £100 million a year, and I’ve found that the principles are the same regardless of scale. People want to feel secure; to feel they have someone they can trust looking after them. And they want to know that someone is genuinely thinking about their future, not just their portfolio. I remember working with a client whose husband had recently passed away. She wasn’t interested in finance and had never needed to be. Being there for her in that moment, helping her feel steady and looked after, was more meaningful than any good year in the markets can ever bring.

Everything from those lows, to celebrating in a meeting following a recent well planned early retirement are what makes my job what it is. It’s a gift and a pleasure to have a trusted seat at the ‘family table’ and it‘s something I will always value and protect.

My South African background comes up more than you’d expect – with clients who’ve made the same journey, or who simply appreciate a different perspective. I had the privilege of receiving an award for the highest mark of the year in 2024 when I achieved Chartered status, and this led me to be appointed as the Deputy Treasurer for the local Chartered Insurance Institute in Guildford, where I helped raise over £15,000 for a local charity earlier in 2026. I look forward to many more of these events and to supporting the local community.

Outside of work, I enjoy boxing, and Latin dancing – proof that balance doesn’t always have to make sense on paper.
