“Good financial advice starts with understanding the life you want to live.”
I pride myself on taking the time to truly understand my clients’ circumstances, so together we can build a financial plan that supports the life they want – not just now, but long term.
My interest in financial planning began in my early 20s. Growing up, money wasn’t something we had a lot of, which gave me a strong appreciation for its value and impact. I started my career with Scarborough Building Society as a mortgage underwriter, where I developed a solid understanding of how good financial decisions early on can lead to stronger outcomes later in life.
It was during this time, after meeting with a financial planner in one of our local branches, that I realised this was the career path I wanted to pursue. Sitting in on client meetings and hearing discussions around asset classes, pensions, and long-term planning completely captured my interest – and from that point, I was hooked. I enrolled in my training the very next week.
I went on to spend nearly ten years in banking before joining an independent financial adviser, later joining a larger firm. In 2021, I was proud to be awarded Female Financial Adviser of the Year. This recognition meant a great deal to me, particularly as I had taken time out of the industry to raise my children, which had impacted my confidence. Being nominated – and ultimately winning – reminded me that the knowledge and experience I had built over the years had never left; I simply needed to remind myself of it!
I work with a wide range of clients, including many women who are confident in making their own financial decisions. I also particularly enjoy working with families across generations, helping them build and protect wealth for the future.
During the pandemic, I expanded my work into financial coaching alongside advising, supporting individuals, business owners, and younger clients through a challenging time. This experience has shaped the way I work today. Rather than simply telling clients what they should do, I focus on helping them understand what they truly want from their money and building a plan that aligns with their goals, values, and mindset.
For me, financial planning is not about numbers on a page. It’s about defining what you are working towards – what retirement looks like, the lifestyle you want, and the choices you want to have – and then creating a clear, measurable path to get there. At every review, we track progress so clients can clearly see both their destination and the journey.
I offer a flexible approach to working with clients, whether that’s at home, in the office, or in a way that best suits their lifestyle. Building long-term relationships is at the heart of what I do. I take the time to really get to know my clients – their families, their interests, and what matters most to them – so that my advice genuinely fits into their lives.
Outside of work, my husband is a volunteer crew member with the RNLI, and I’m often involved in fundraising alongside our two children. I enjoy staying active and recently completed the Three Peaks Challenge – something that pushed me both physically and mentally, but that I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m now training for a half marathon in support of my nephew, who lives with epilepsy.
I rarely sit still for long, and that same energy and commitment is reflected in how I support my clients every day.
