Chartered Wealth Planner
Gregory Duncan
Greg has been advising clients for over 20 years and gained chartered status in 2013.
“My role is simple: helping people get unstuck.”
There’s one client experience I often come back to. A woman in her 70s came to see me feeling completely overwhelmed by her finances. Her husband had recently passed away and had always managed everything, leaving her to navigate a pension and ISA transfer while coping with grief.
She had been unable to make progress for over a year. Three meetings later, everything was sorted.
What stayed with me most was the sense of relief she felt when it was finally done. That, more than anything, reminded me that the real value of advice is helping people feel confident and in control when life becomes overwhelming.
With more than 23 years’ experience and Chartered status since 2013, I’ve helped clients navigate everything from retirement planning to Inheritance Tax and investment decisions. Whatever the challenge, my goal is to simplify the complex and provide a clear way forward.
I don’t use jargon, and I go at a pace that suits the person in front of me. My role is to bring clarity to complex decisions and make sure nothing falls through the gaps.
Over the years, something shifts in a client relationship. Early on, people are deciding whether they trust you. Over time, it becomes a genuine conversation: relaxed, honest and built on a track record of doing what you said you would. Continuity is something I take seriously. Knowing someone’s full picture means the advice becomes more informed, not just more efficient.
Outside of work, my time is spent with my wife and two young children. Weekends are usually a mix of football, swimming and gymnastics. Family life has a habit of keeping priorities clear, which is one reason I enjoy financial planning: helping people organise their finances so they can focus more of their time and energy on the things that matter most.
