    Financial Planner

I want my clients to see their money as a creative and exciting tool rather than a number on a page. I help my clients to accomplish their life goals and enjoy financial peace of mind.”

I’m a financial planner with over eleven years of experience helping individuals and families achieve genuine financial freedom. Known for my coaching style and deep-rooted commitment to my clients, I approach financial planning differently to most advisers. I  believe that money exists to enable people to live the lives they truly want.

My path into financial planning was shaped by my upbringing and that personal motivation became the foundation of my professional philosophy: that money, properly understood and planned, creates choices and it creates time.

The shift from product-centric to life-centric planning is central to my work as an adviser. I would describe myself as a ‘life-goal focused financial planner’, someone whose work is rooted in the conviction that the key is in the planning, not the product. I see clients as people with lives, ambitions and stories. Not as ‘assets under management’.

A recent example of this was at a workshop with an engineering company, I met a director in his early sixties who had resigned himself to working until the age of sixty-seven, despite hating his job and struggling with his health. He believed retirement was years away and that he had no need for financial advice.

I suggested a half-hour cash flow planning session. It revealed that he had more than enough to retire immediately. The barrier had not been financial, it had been fear and uncertainty. Today, that client is retired, travels regularly, pursues his hobbies, and credits me with transforming his life. Seven years doesn’t sound a lot but when you hate your job and you’ve got health issues, it’s a long time. Remember that money, properly understood and planned, creates choices and it creates time.

I can help you design the life you want too, we just need to get started.

Away from work, I’m an avid motorcyclist, relishing the freedom of the open road and impressive scenery. My love of sport spans football (which I play), cricket, ice hockey, and motor racing. Music is a constant presence – my father was a second-generation mod, and I’ve inherited an eclectic, wide-ranging taste as a result.

I’m married with three children, and faith plays an important role in my life. I’m a committed Christian and attend church every Sunday. My ideal weekend would be somewhere sunny abroad, riding my motorbike along spectacular roads, enjoying great food, and spending unhurried time at the beach with my family – phone firmly put away.
