I fell into financial services, if I’m honest. I finished university and I needed a job; I was offered two – one selling mobile phones, one answering calls to financial advisers. I took the second one almost by chance and within two months I knew it was exactly where I was supposed to be, 21 years later and I still love it.

What keeps me interested is the variety. One day you’re helping a retired client make sure they’ll never run out of money. The next you’re sitting with the director of a major business working through a complex tax strategy for the sale of a company worth millions. No two days are the same, and no two clients are the same, and I’ve always found people genuinely fascinating. I love nothing more than going to someone’s house for the first time and asking about the photos on the wall, that’s where the real conversation starts.

I work with high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners across wealth planning, Inheritance Tax (IHT), investments and pensions. The longer I know someone, the more useful I become, because the conversations that unlock the best planning are rarely the ones that happen in the first meeting.

Outside of work, I spend as much time as possible with my two children, take my eldest to football training several times a week, and play golf whenever I can convince myself I’ve earned it.
