When it comes to good financial planning, nothing sits in isolation.
When it comes to good financial planning, nothing sits in isolation.
The first time that money really meant something to me was the day I bought my first car on PCP. Overnight, money and accountability became linked. If I couldn’t cover the payment, the car went; and without the car, I couldn’t get to the job that paid for it. Everything I’d treated as separate was suddenly connected. That’s how I see good financial planning: every decision has a knock-on effect worth understanding before you make it.
I’ve spent over a decade at Mattioli Woods, and I’ve taken a deliberate route to get to where I am now. I started my career in client relationship management before becoming Corporate Reporting Partner, dealing with Financial Conduct Authority regulation as well as working alongside our anti-fraud and money laundering teams. I then joined the Financial Adviser Academy, passing every exam and shadowing senior consultants across the business before qualifying as an adviser. This grounding means that I understand not just the advice, but the standards and safeguards behind it.
The moment I knew I wanted to advise had nothing to do with money. Reviewing client files, I kept seeing the same thing: the real value a Mattioli Woods adviser delivers isn’t investment performance or the intricate tax arrangements, it’s relief and peace of mind. It’s having someone on the other end of the phone who knows what they’re talking about and can explain it simply, so it makes sense. These conversations aren’t always easy, and they can be emotional, but when a client realises they have someone firmly in their corner, you can see the difference it makes.
Outside of work, I’ve always loved sport. I played football from a young age and captained many of my teams, and being the person others look to when the game isn’t going your way teaches you something advice can’t: how to stay steady, keep people calm and show you’re in it together. These days you’ll find me on the padel court, out for a run or training at the gym.
Working with me, you can expect plain English and clear recommendations. I’ll talk you through every angle, then focus on the one that’s right for you and explain exactly why. And when something happens in your family, whether it’s good news or bad, you’ll know there’s someone on the other end of the phone you can trust.
