“I’m grateful to be doing work that feels genuinely important.”
I didn’t set out to become a financial adviser through the traditional route. Life has a way of showing you where you’re meant to be, and for me, that clarity came through experience rather than intention.
I joined Mattioli Woods in 2022 and qualified as a wealth management consultant, achieving my diploma in regulated financial planning. But the technical knowledge – important as it is – was never going to be enough on its own. What matters most is using that knowledge to genuinely improve people’s lives, not just their balance sheets.
My ambition has always been straightforward: build relationships that last while creating financial strategies that actually fit the people they’re designed for. Not generic plans pulled from a template, but something truly bespoke – shaped by listening, understanding what drives someone, and respecting what matters to them.
What drives me is a simple belief: if you do the right thing for people, everything else follows. I want to reach the point where a client looks at their financial plan – or when their son or daughter joins a meeting years down the line – and knows that everything reflects their family’s needs and values. That there’s nothing more we could have done. When I can say that with confidence, that’s when the work feels meaningful.
I’ve always believed the intangible rewards matter just as much as the tangible ones. Yes, we all have financial goals – security, comfort, opportunity. But the real privilege of this job is being trusted with people’s futures. Being there not just when markets are rising and everything feels easy, but when life gets complicated. When someone needs reassurance, perspective, or simply someone who understands.
Outside of work, I’m very much a family man. I live in Leicester with my wife and two young children, and they’re the foundation of everything. My main passion is sport – although my days playing football are firmly behind me, I’m still a passionate Leicester City fan and a keen golfer. These days, I’m more likely to be found on the golf course than the pitch, which probably says everything you need to know about where I am in life.
