“Good financial advice today creates stronger financial futures and greater peace of mind”
Most people speak to a financial adviser because something’s nagging at them. A pot of money that doesn’t feel like it’s working hard enough. Cash sitting idle in a bank account. Somone who’s never quite felt confident about where the money is going. Whatever it is, I want to help.
I studied Accounting for Management at Aston University, and quickly realised I wanted to work with people. Financial advice is different – every client brings a new situation, and that’s what drew me in. I joined Mattioli Woods through the Financial Adviser Academy, completing a programme that blended classroom learning with hands-on shadowing of experienced advisers.
The biggest lessons came from sitting in real meetings with real clients. One stays with me. I visited a couple at their home whose pension savings had been sitting in cash. The wife was understandably nervous about moving into investments, so I took my time and walked them through how we manage money and what we aim to achieve over the long term. That evening, we heard back – she felt at ease. That’s what this job is about.
My approach is straightforward. I listen first, understand what you genuinely want to achieve, and then build a plan around that. I won’t rush you into decisions. Trust has to come before advice, and the best financial planning happens when clients feel truly understood – not sold to. Whether you’re starting to build your wealth or managing something more complex, I’ll explain it clearly and without the jargon. These things only feel complicated until someone takes the time to explain them properly.
Areas such as pensions, Inheritance Tax planning, and investment solutions can sound daunting. In reality, they’re only as complex as they need to be – and part of my job is making sure you’re never left in the dark.
Outside of work, I’m married and love travelling. I think a lot about balance – which, as it turns out, is exactly what good financial planning is all about.
