    Finance didn’t always feel like my calling. I studied marketing at university, nearly landed a publishing role in London, and was genuinely weighing up two very different paths. In the end, Mattioli Woods offered me a role when the other door hadn’t quite opened yet. I often say finance chose me – not the other way around. And looking back, I’m glad it did.

    I joined Mattioli Woods in 2006 and spent years working across different parts of the business – administration, compliance, the Investments team – before qualifying as an adviser in 2011. That breadth of experience isn’t just background. It means I understand how each part of the business works and how to draw on the right expertise at the right moment to get the best outcome for clients. In fact, it’s instilled early on that we’re not just financial advisers – we’re confidants. We often know a client’s personal circumstances better than most of their own family.

    Today, I work with business owners and senior leaders – CEOs, executives, and owner-managers – helping them translate their financial goals into strategies that actually work. My approach is holistic, combining wealth management, pension planning, Inheritance Tax planning, and investment solutions. No two clients are the same, and I’ve found that empathy is just as important as technical knowledge. I adapt my approach to the person in front of me, whether that means working through a detailed plan or simply being a steady presence when something feels uncertain.

    What drives me is the client journey – being part of turning an ambition into a reality. I treat every client the way I’d want someone to treat my own family. My marketing background gives me something a little different too: a natural instinct for communication, for adjusting my tone, and for making sure complex financial planning doesn’t feel complicated. Clear, honest conversations are where good decisions begin.

    Outside of work, I play golf – often with clients, which is one of the best ways I know to get to understand someone properly over a few hours. I enjoy travelling and follow Leicester City and Leicester Tigers with the kind of loyalty that’s good training for any financial adviser.
