As one of the biggest problems facing health services today, dementia impacts many of our employees and clients. It poses an enormous challenge and demands an urgent and substantial response.
We aim to raise £150,000 for Alzheimer's Research UK, to help transform lives, by funding the research that will bring about life-changing treatments and eventually a cure. We intend to engage employees, clients and partners to raise money for the charity through a series of fundraising events, from bucket collections to payroll giving, sporting events, dinners and seasonal activities.
Ian Mattioli MBE, Chief Executive Officer of Mattioli Woods, commented:
‘Our charity partnership is one I am immensely proud to be involved with. Dementia is one of the most misunderstood conditions in the UK and the money raised by Mattioli Woods is going to fund ground-breaking research that will change the lives of people impacted by it.
‘We started out in business many years ago as retirement planners and still look after many of our original clients. We have seen first-hand the devastating effect dementia has on families, and we look forward to making a huge difference over the next two years.’
Paul Glazier, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Alzheimer's Research UK, said:
‘More than half of us will know someone living with dementia today. Despite this, there are no treatments to slow, stop or prevent the diseases, like Alzheimer’s, that cause dementia. But with the incredible support of Mattioli Woods, we will be able to make breakthroughs possible and change the lives of everyone impacted by this devastating condition.
‘All of us at Alzheimer's Research UK are so excited to be working with Mattioli Woods, and we have seen how motivated their employees are to support our cause. We know their efforts will make a huge difference by raising vital funds for research, while also raising much-needed awareness and helping us to overcome misconceptions around dementia. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.’
