“Professionalism, development and doing the right thing for clients are what matter most to me.”
Most people do not associate financial advice with playing football in the United States, but that’s where my journey really took shape.
While I have always had a strong interest in business and finance, sport has played an equally defining role in my life. That passion earned me a scholarship to play football in the USA while studying, an opportunity that took me thousands of miles from home and well outside my comfort zone. I spent four formative years in two contrasting locations, Tennessee and New York, competing at a high level, immersing myself in a melting pot of cultures, and ultimately graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing from Dominican University of Blauvelt in New York.
Playing competitive sport at that level teaches you things no classroom can. You learn resilience when things don’t go to plan, discipline when motivation fades, and the value of teamwork, preparation and thinking long term. Just as importantly, living and playing alongside people from completely different backgrounds taught me how to listen, adapt and connect, skills that are essential to how I work with clients today.
After returning to the UK, I spent time managing a family property business, gaining first-hand experience of the realities behind financial decisions, risk and long-term planning. It was following this period that I discovered the adviser training programme at Mattioli Woods. The emphasis on professionalism, development and doing the right thing for clients resonated immediately and I knew it was exactly where I wanted to build my career.
As a wealth management consultant at Mattioli Woods, I am motivated by the opportunity to form genuine relationships, understand each client’s story, and translate their goals into clear, practical financial plans. I never lose sight of the trust clients place in me. Helping people create robust, long-term strategies that give them the freedom to pursue what matters most to them is a responsibility I take seriously, and one I strive to exceed expectations in.
Outside of work, sport remains central to my life. Football is still my first love, but I also enjoy other sports such as padel and golf. In addition to this I try to spend as much time as possible in the gym, not just for physical fitness, but for the mental clarity and balance it brings.
