Prior to joining Mattioli Woods in 2024, Jose started his career as a basketball women’s coach and physical trainer in his local football club in Madrid while graduating from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and professional football coaching.
He has spent much of his career as a sports consultant, sports executive, and director for sport charities, working with prestigious organisations including UEFA, LTA-Tennis for Britain, and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
Jose gained a postgraduate degree in International Business at Birkbeck, University of London before teaching ‘Sport and Diplomacy’ at SOAS, University of London, and conducting research on athlete support, Olympic sponsorship and football managers turnover at IESE Business School in Spain.
Since joining Mattioli Woods, Jose has earned his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning while gaining hands-on experience in holistic wealth management and financial planning. He brings relevant experience working closely with athletes, startup entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and expats in the UK. His dedication to process, innovative thinking, strong ethics, and a proactive problem-solving approach to every client relationship has built trusted relations across various industries including financial services, sport and entertainment.
Outside of work, you are likely to find Jose with his two young boys in the park and swimming pool or playing padel at the weekends.
