With Christmas traditionally being a time of giving it is important that we continue to support those around us, both locally and in the wider community.
Amati Global Investors Limited continue to uphold their practice of donating 10% of their profits to charity and, with Amati being a part of the Mattioli Woods family, we are able to benefit from this incredible generosity. Each year our employees help us distribute these funds. This year we received 58 requests for donations to charities that either provide support directly to our colleagues or are areas important to them.
We were able to allocate a staggering £40,415, with every charity nominated receiving between £250 and £3,000.
Charities including Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, Help the Homeless and TreeSisters (full list below) received the funds at a time when donations have dropped due to the pandemic. A recent survey by the Charity Commission1 confirmed that 60% of charities saw a loss of income while 32% saw a shortage of volunteers. Donations really are needed now more than ever.
Ian Mattioli, Chief Executive Officer of Mattioli Woods said, “I’m really proud of the help and support our colleagues give to others. The culture of caring and sharing runs through our entire group and the donation from Amati enables us to help charities close to our own colleagues’ hearts right across the country.”
Wishes 4 Kids was just one of the charities who received a donation and they explained how the money would help.
“We’ve decided to use this donation towards granting the wish of a two year old little boy who has congenial heart disease and has already had open heart surgery. His wish was for a swing in his back garden and with your help we’ve ordered him a wooden climbing frame with a swing set, a slide and monkey bars and we will be delivering this to him before Christmas.
So, from the bottom of our heart, we would like to thank you all for your continued kindness and support and the biggest thank you comes from the little boy who’s wishes you have helped come true.”
As always, we would like to thank our friends at Amati and are proud that we were able to help every charity nominated.
