“Understanding what money means to you and how it can lead to the life you want to live – that’s where great financial planning begins.”
My journey into financial advice was probably more unconventional than most. Around five years ago, I was helping a friend set up a Stocks & Shares Individual Savings Account (ISA) – doing something that came naturally to me due to my personal interest in investing. He asked me, “Why don’t you do this as a job?” Though the question seemed insignificant at the time, this one moment led to a long-term career in something I find deeply fulfilling.
I have spent my whole career in finance, starting out as a junior stockbroker before moving over to the institutional side as an inter-bank broker. However, I realised I wanted to help people achieve their financial goals and build relationships for the long term, so I decided to retrain as a financial adviser – it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I joined the company in 2023 as a qualified financial adviser with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).
Working with me isn’t just about the returns on your investments each year. I want to understand what money actually means to you – what you’re building it for, what you’d love to do more of in your life with it, and how this aligns with your objectives. Most clients think financial planning is simply about the investment performance. In reality, it’s about tax legislation changes, life events, planning for what’s on the horizon as well as being prudent for the long-term, as well as much more. My job is to help you get clear on your plan, then evolve this over time to give you peace of mind and enjoy the life you’ve worked hard for.
Outside of work, you’ll find me in the gym, going to new places with friends or my girlfriend, or – with varying levels of enthusiasm – watching West Ham United (or my second team Southend United if they’re not doing too well!).
