Over 70 representatives from Leicester businesses heard award winning entrepreneur and business owner Suleman Sacranie share his incredible business story from starring in the BBC series Million Dollar Intern to winning The Growing Business Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2019. He shared his experience in tech start-ups, which led to him starting The GP Service, a unique online doctor service that connects to over 1,600 pharmacies in the UK, providing primary care treatment of minor conditions and illnesses.
Ian Mattioli MBE, Chief Executive Officer, Mattioli Woods plc said: ‘Leicester is not one of the best areas to work in, it is the best, and I make no apology for this. I am a Leicester boy, born and bred and anything I and the Mattioli Woods business can do to encourage local businesses is a good thing. We are really pleased to host PROFILE1 as they provide a platform to give businesses the opportunity to network, create “real friendships” and “enjoy the space”’ of our location in the centre of Leicester.
During the most recent event, Chef Kwoklyn Wan, brother of Gok Wan, provided the refreshments and shared some of his favourite bites to celebrate Chinese New Year. Kwoklyn can regularly be seen sharing his passion for all things mouth-wateringly tasty, in written articles, interviews and appearances on BBC Radio Leicester, live demonstrations at food festivals and on TV, joining Phil and Holly on This Morning and presenting for BBC 1’s Inside Out.
The event took place in the wealth management firm’s top-floor sky lounge of their offices in New Walk with impressive views over Leicester.
The networking group meets quarterly and was set up to facilitate networking across the city between key business leaders and influencers. The next event is planned for 14 May 2020.
