Bob co-founded AIM-listed wealth manager Mattioli Woods plc in with Ian Mattioli in 1991. The company subsequently listed on AIM in 2005 when Bob was appointed the Group’s Executive Chairman.
Bob was proud and privileged to have won the London Stock Exchange AIM Entrepreneur of the Year award jointly with Ian Mattioli in 2006; awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award co-sponsored by the Leicester Mercury and the University of Leicester; and greatly honoured with an MBE in the 2017 New Year’s honours lists. Bob was awarded an Honorary Degree (Doctor of Laws) by the University of Leicester in January 2020.
Having stepped down from the board in 2016, whilst continuing to support Mattioli Woods plc, Bob has developed a strong interest in the field of environmental medicine, supporting the University of Leicester’s Centre for Environmental Medicine & Sustainability with a substantial philanthropic gift in 2018.
