Our Deputy Chairman, Joanne Lake, is currently climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of charity! This seven-day trek on the highest freestanding mountain in the world and the highest mountain on the African continent at 5,896m is one of the mightiest challenges, pushing both physical and mental limits.

Q. Have you done anything similar in the past?
A. "I went trekking in the Himalayas (Annapurna) on my honeymoon but that was 20 years ago and we only went to 4,500m. The summit of Kilimanjaro is a lot higher at almost 6,000m."
Q. Are you fundraising? Who for?
A. "I am fundraising for Water Aid (which is a client of our Buckingham office) and we hope to raise enough to install a permanent clean water supply in a hospital in Tanzania."
Q. What attracted you to this particular initiative?
A. "The chance to do something that is a once in a lifetime opportunity and seeing some amazing photos from a friend's previous climb."
Q. What are you doing to prepare?
A. "I've done the Yorkshire Three Peaks (26 miles of walking and 1,630m of ascent), Scafell Pike (989m of ascent), Snowdon (975m of ascent) and numerous other smaller hikes."
